I managed to get through highschool in Louisville, Kentucky with many fond memories, then moved to Chicago, Illinois for my undergraduate studies in heat-n-beat metallurgy (you heat the steel, you beat the steel, etc.). This was done at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
In 1986, I went to Champaign-Urbana, Illinois to begin my graduate studies in Material Engineering and Science, specialized in the effects of radiation on metallic alloys. I successfully defended my PhD dissertation in 1995. More importantly, I met and married my wife there at the University of Illinois.
After graduation, I went to work for a magnetic materials company in northern Illinois. Good people, good company.
In December of 2004, we left the midwest and moved to Phoenix, AZ. I am currently very happily employed by Honeywell Aerospace, a company that make jet engines in their Global Sourcing group.
The work presented here is not done at Honeywell; and is not supported financially, technically, morally, spiritually, or any other way by Honeywell. It is the result of 3-4 years of personal research work, done at my home in my own time. No Honeywell resources (physical or informational) were used in its creation and maintenance.
