Ashbory Bass Project: Working on a new Ashbory bass body (www.largesound.com). The Ashbory bass is a short scale (18") bass with silicone rubber strings. This body is made of two layers of southern yellow pine. I cut the shape out on my band saw, and glue the layers together. The "indentations" are pre-cut to reduce the amount of dust generated by routing. I HATE using the router.
